Chuck Doherty hit the ground running when we arrived in America from Ireland in 1972. He quickly established himself as one of the best heavy equipment operators in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He went onto to start his own company, C.J. Doherty, Inc. in 1978. C.J. Doherty, Inc. became a go-to excavation company for local developers, and in 1998 Chuck began to develop property of his own. Chuck successfully built a diverse mix of residential and commercial real estate from the ground up. His bold belief in himself and ability to get things done have allowed him to create amazing things.

C.J. Doherty grew up on construction sites, watching, and learning from some of Boston’s finest home builders. He traded the shovel for the pen, and took the path to Merrimack College where he studied business. He returned to work for the family and took C.J. Doherty, Inc to new heights and spearheaded the property development end of the business. The observation of his youth has given C.J. a keen sense of what is right and wrong with the approach of site work and property development.
